Ant wasps against drugstore beetles, tobacco beetles & more – natural help for your pantry
Our GREEN GUARDIA ant wasps are an effective solution for the biological control of pantry pests such as drugstore beetles, tobacco beetles, grain weevils, rice weevils, and other beetle species in dry food. They are used completely without chemicals and are harmless to humans and pets.
The tiny beneficial insects specifically seek out and parasitize the larvae of the pests, preventing the beetle population from developing any further. One tube contains at least 40 ant wasps and covers approximately 10 m² – ideal for kitchens, storage cabinets, larders, or storage rooms.
Suitable for use against
- Drugstore beetles
- Tobacco beetles
- Grain weevils
- Rice weevils
- Maize weevils
- Spider beetles and Australian spider beetles
- Other pantry beetles found in dry food
How ant wasps work
Ant wasps reliably track down the larvae of pantry pests within food and supplies. They lay their eggs on the larvae, which prevents the pests from developing further. This sustainably interrupts the beetle's life cycle.
Once there are no more host larvae left, the beneficial insects disappear on their own and leave no residues.
So geht’s
In größeren Räumen mehrere Röhrchen einsetzen.

FAQ Ant wasps
Do you have questions about our products, their application, or shipping? Here you can find the most important answers at a glance. If something remains unclear, please feel free to contact us!

Ant wasps (Cephalonomia tarsalis) are tiny beneficial insects used for the biological control of stored product beetles. They specifically seek out larvae of pests such as the drugstore beetle or cigarette beetle and parasitize them.
Ant wasps are primarily used against stored product beetles, for example, the drugstore beetle, cigarette beetle, granary weevil, rice weevil, and other beetle species in dry food.
The beneficial insects track down the beetle larvae and lay their eggs on them. This prevents the pests from developing further and reduces the beetle population naturally.
Ant wasps are very small, only a few millimeters long. As a rule, you will hardly notice them in the room.
No. Ant wasps are harmless to humans, pets, and food. They do not sting and disappear on their own once there are no more host larvae present.
The beneficial insects are delivered in small tubes containing live ant wasps. They are protected during transit and can be used immediately upon delivery.
Delivery generally takes place within a few working days. As these are live insects, they are shipped fresh.
Upon receipt, the ant wasps should be applied as soon as possible so they can become active immediately.
Prolonged storage is not recommended. For the best effect, ant wasps should be used directly after delivery.
Yes. The packaging is designed so that the ant wasps survive the transport well.
The tube is simply opened in the affected area, for example, in the pantry or kitchen cupboard. The beneficial insects then distribute themselves independently.
One tube with approximately 40 ant wasps is suitable for an area of about 10 m². In larger rooms, multiple tubes can be used.
Ideally as close as possible to the affected areas, for example, in pantry cupboards, kitchen shelves, or near infested food.
After release, the beneficial insects will search for larvae of the stored product beetles for several weeks.
In cases of stronger or prolonged infestation, a repeat application after a few weeks may be useful.
Once there are no more host larvae present, the ant wasps can no longer reproduce and will disappear on their own.
Yes. Use in kitchens or pantries is completely trouble-free.
Normal cleaning is not a problem. However, strong-acting insecticides should be avoided, as these can also negatively affect beneficial insects.
Stored product beetles can be introduced via food packaging or newly purchased products. Regular checking of food supplies helps to detect an infestation early.
Store food as airtight as possible, check supplies regularly, and keep cupboards clean. This makes it significantly less likely that stored product beetles will be introduced.
